Character

The extension of Dubai Creek runs through the district and continues as the Dubai Water Canal, a 3.2 kilometre waterway that opened in 2016 and reaches the sea through Safa Park and Jumeirah. Marasi Business Bay, with a promenade of around 12 kilometres, five marinas and floating restaurants, gives the area a walkable edge, while inland streets are denser and more commercial in feel. Landmarks include The Opus, designed by Zaha Hadid for Omniyat and home to the ME Dubai hotel, and the twin towers of the JW Marriott Marquis.
