Downtown Dubai

Downtown Dubai is the city's most visited address and, for many, its centre of gravity. Around Burj Khalifa and its lake, Emaar created a district of apartment towers, hotels, offices and cultural venues that has become the reference point for modern Dubai.

At a glance

Downtown Dubai is an Emaar district of around two square kilometres between Sheikh Zayed Road and Financial Centre Road, home to Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall, The Dubai Fountain and Dubai Opera. It is served by the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station on the Dubai Metro Red Line.

Character

The district is arranged around Burj Khalifa Lake and The Dubai Fountain, with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard looping around it. Towers of varying ages line the boulevard, while Souk Al Bahar and the Opera District add warmth and a sense of occasion. It is urban, polished and busy, particularly in the evenings.
