Effective 22 October 2026
1. Why we verify your identity
As a licensed real estate broker, Castilion is required by the anti money laundering and counter terrorist financing laws of the United Arab Emirates to carry out customer due diligence. This includes verifying your identity, understanding the purpose of the transaction and, where required, the source of funds. Banks apply their own due diligence in addition.
2. What this means in practice
- Identity and income documents are requested only once you instruct Castilion, and are collected securely by your adviser, never through the public forms on the Website.
- Records of due diligence are retained for at least five (5) years after the end of the relationship, as the law requires, even if you ask us to delete other data.
- Castilion may be required by law to report suspicious transactions to the competent authorities and is prohibited from informing the person concerned.
- Castilion may decline or end a relationship where due diligence cannot be completed.
3. Requesting your data
To request a copy of your personal data, its correction, restriction or deletion, or to withdraw a consent, email info@castilion-estates.com with the subject “Data request” and state which right you wish to exercise. We shall verify your identity before acting and respond within thirty (30) days. Marketing messages may be stopped at any time by replying STOP or by asking your adviser.
4. If we cannot delete
Where the law requires Castilion to keep certain records, such as due diligence and transaction records, we shall restrict their use to that legal purpose and explain this to you in our response.
